RSC Diesels was founded by Ross Nucifora, who completed his apprenticeship in 1994 and became a fully qualified Heavy Commercial Diesel Mechanic at just nineteen years of age. Starting out as a sole trader from a workshop on the corner of Munro and Mill Street in Babinda, Ross built the business from the ground up on time-honoured principles: do the work properly, communicate clearly, and treat every client like they are the only business that matters.
Thirty years later, those principles have not changed. What has changed is everything around them. RSC Diesels now operates from a purpose-built facility in Woree, Cairns, employs a dedicated team of qualified technicians and support staff, and holds authorised dealer status for some of the most respected names in the heavy commercial vehicle industry including Scania, IVECO, Allison Transmission, and Donaldson.
RSC Diesels is not a franchise. It is not a national chain. It is a Cairns business, owned and operated by people who live here, work here, and genuinely care about the operators and fleet managers who depend on them. That is something no amount of corporate infrastructure can replicate.

RSC Diesels operates from a state-of-the-art purpose-built workshop in Woree, Cairns, designed from the ground up to handle heavy and light commercial vehicles of all sizes, efficiently and without compromise.
Our drive-through service bays are built to accommodate even the largest vehicles on the road, streamlining the servicing process so your vehicle spends less time in the workshop and more time working. The facility includes a dedicated COI inspection bay fitted with a brake roller, shaker platform, dedicated inspection pit, and a 20-tonne air pit jack, making us one of the most comprehensively equipped COI providers in the region.
We are an authorised sales, parts, and service agent for Scania and IVECO, which means our facility and our tooling meet the standards those manufacturers require. Every piece of equipment is chosen to support accurate, efficient, and high-quality work across all makes and models.
We also know that breakdowns do not follow business hours. Because we understand that your livelihood depends on your vehicles, we are constantly working to offer better and more comprehensive support when it matters most. From Apprentice To owner
Ross Nucifora grew up in Far North Queensland with entrepreneurship in his blood. He started a diesel mechanic apprenticeship with a local agricultural transport company at 15, completed his trade with honours, and moved to Townsville to broaden his experience across wider fields and marine applications.
By 21, he was back in Far North Queensland and launched RSC Diesels as a sole trader out of Babinda, offering diesel repairs and a 24/7 mobile service from day one.
Built on Hard Work and the Right Decisions
In 2000 the business incorporated and relocated to Cairns, growing its scope to include engine and transmission rebuilds. Ross stepped away for several years to manage his family’s farming interests in Babinda following the passing of his father, before deciding in 2007 to return full time and focus solely on expanding RSC Diesels.
Plans were drawn up for a purpose-built workshop in the Woree Business Park, and in March 2010 the company opened its current 900 square metre facility (and has not looked back since)!

The team holds authorised dealer status for Scania, IVECO, Allison Transmissions, Donaldson Filtration and Fiat Professional, servicing fleets of heavy and light commercial vehicles for some of the region’s most recognised businesses.
