In February this year Ross had the privilege of making a long but relatively quick journey to Södertälje Stockholm in Sweden to learn more about the New Generation Scania’s being launched in Australia mid-march.
Ross traveled with a cohort of Scania dealers and Scania staff and together they were briefed on the New Generation Trucks and the future of the Scania brand. The Scania factory tour was certainly a highlight and an eye-opener, with a bus needed to connect between the vast compounds of Scania factories.
The average night-time temperature was minus 7 degrees which is a far cry from our tropical weather here in Cairns, so a fair few layers of additional clothing were needed.
Of particular interest is the XT Model which stands for eXtra Tough… and it’s spec’d out for just that label. We think that they’re going to be a good fit for rural and remote Queensland applications when they make landfall in Australia in 2018.
